The Biology program equips students with a broad understanding of biology for transfer to four-year institutions. Students will delve into the fundamental principles of biology, including applying the principles of the scientific method; communicating effectively using scientific terminology; and critically analyzing the implications and consequences of the field of biology. Graduates may then pursue a bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
Biology, TAOC Transfer, A.S. (031A) ♦
This program equips students with a broad understanding of biology for transfer to four-year institutions. Students will delve into the fundamental principles of biology, including applying the principles of the scientific method; communicating effectively using scientific terminology; and critically analyzing the implications and consequences of the field of biology. Graduates may then pursue a bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
Biology, Non-TAOC Transfer, A.S. (031B) ♦
A program that prepares the student with a broad college background and skills in biology for transfer to a four-year institution.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Describe the fundamental principles of the biological sciences.
- Apply basic research methods and proper technique to ethically conduct experiments and report data.
- Communicate effectively in writing using proper scientific terminology and concepts.
- Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to analyze biological problems and the impacts on society.

Biotechnology Programs Have Been Discontinued
Thank you for your interest in CCAC's Biotechnology program. We will no longer offer the program beginning fall of 2023. Those who are currently enrolled in the program will be able to finish their coursework. Contact Caroline Evans at cevans@ccac.edu or speak with an academic advisor.
