The Community College of Allegheny County's new Vice President for Workforce Development has joined the Board of the Consortium for Public Education. Before her appointment, Debra Roach, Ph.D., served on the board's Future Ready Partnerships Advisory Committee, and she will continue to do so. A catalyst for advancement in K-12 education and workforce development, the Consortium for Public Education connects schools with partners and resources to support students in preparing for their futures.

"I've enjoyed contributing to the Consortium," said Dr. Roach. "What draws me to their work is their strong commitment to convening educational institutions with business and community partners, which allows them to help develop true and solid education-to-career pathways for students."

Before joining CCAC in 2021, Dr. Roach served for six years as Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Penn State University where she oversaw programming in multiple southwestern Pennsylvania counties. Prior to her tenure with Penn State, she served as the Director for Graduate Enrollment at Robert Morris University and as the training program developer for SAE International.

Dr. Roach's community and professional affiliations are many. Besides serving on the Executive Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce, she is involved with Partner4Work, the Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board, PA CareerLink Beaver County, Tristate Energy and Advanced Manufacturing (TEAM) Consortium, University Professional Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education (PAACE) and the Learning Resources Network (LERN). She also serves on numerous related committees and is involved with many other special projects.
