CCAC Professors and Students Appear on KDKA-TV’s "Talk Pittsburgh"

Dr. Justin Starr, CCAC endowed professor for advanced technologies, recently appeared on KDKA-TV's new show "Talk Pittsburgh" to discuss CCAC's participation in the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program. The segment featured CCAC students Dan Roth and Jason Gomes alongside Dr. Francis Cartieri, CCAC professor of biology, as they explained their winning experiment, "Microgravity's Effects on the Activation of Dormant Metastatic Cancers."

The students' experiment will soon be launched into space to be conducted by astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Their research "may help save the lives of future astronauts," according to the show's host, Heather Abraham. Viewers also learned that Heather's mom is an alumna of the CCAC Nursing program!
