The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) will host a Culinary Open House on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Forester Student Services Center (808 Ridge Ave.) on Allegheny Campus. This event is open to the public, prospective students, their families and friends.

Attendees will have an opportunity to explore the degrees and certificates offered through CCAC's world-class Culinary Institute—Culinary Arts, Culinary Basics, Baking & Pastry Arts, and Foodservice & Restaurant Management. Experienced faculty and academic advisors will be on hand to discuss the many career opportunities available as well as the latest trends in the industry. Participants can also meet with CCAC admissions representatives about career pathways, and speak with financial aid officers to learn about grants, scholarships and loans. 

Interested guests can participate in an exclusive preview tour of the state-of-the-art CCAC Culinary Institute's training spaces and kitchens in the new Center for Education, Innovation & Training (CEIT). Tours will take place at 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

For nearly fifty years, CCAC's pioneering Culinary Arts programs have trained leaders in the industry, even serving as models for other colleges across the nation. Students receive hands-on experience in everything from slicing and dicing to sautéing and flambéing as they rotate through roles, practicing the different responsibilities of a professional kitchen. The program also provides job-ready skills training in foodservice and restaurant management, leadership, communication, purchasing, menu design and more to help prepare graduates to thrive in a wide range of professional settings. Culinary and restaurant management faculty bring real-world experience from successful careers in restaurants, clubs, hotels and bakeries. 

CCAC's world-class Culinary Institute, housed in the new state-of-the art Center for Education, Innovation & Training, includes three state-of-the-art kitchen labs, providing an authentic restaurant environment and enabling students to work with the latest industrial equipment and appliances.
