Most Memorable CCAC Experience

My most memorable experience at CCAC was having the honor of being Grand Marshall at graduation. Graduation is such a joyful celebration of our students' achievements, and it was a pleasure to take part in the ceremony in such a special way.

Why I Teach What I Teach

Child development, early learning and education are each fascinating topics that are essential to quality living and learning. Young children should have nothing less than those dedicated to excellence through effective teaching practices. I have the opportunity here at CCAC to share in our ECD and EDU students' higher education experience while they earn their degrees to enter the workforce and/or transfer on for teacher certification. I value my teaching experience here at CCAC because of the powerful work my students go on to accomplish in their work with young children.

Something People Might Not Know About Me

I love ballet, and while my Nutcracker dancing days are long behind me, I still love watching others dance. There are so many great performances posted on YouTube-I love to jump on and watch them when I want to relax and unwind.

Favorite Quote

I have two favorite quotes, both from John Dewey.

My favorite is: "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself."

A close second is: "Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another."

Both convey how I try to live my life and approach my teaching career.
