CCAC President Joins First Lady Jill Biden for Workforce Panel Discussion
Dr. Quintin Bullock, CCAC president, had a seat at the table for a workforce-readiness panel discussion with first lady Jill Biden. The event was held on Nov. 8 at Hazelwood Green's Mill 19. The Biden Administration selected the Pittsburgh region as one of five workforce hub sites across the country, along with Columbus, Ohio; Augusta, Georgia; Baltimore; and Phoenix. Pittsburgh was singled out at the time for its emerging robotics, biomanufacturing and clean energy industries, along with its "world-class universities."
The Pittsburgh Workforce Hub is on track to create more than a thousand new jobs, and Dr. Bullock was invited to address workforce issues with a panel that included Acting Labor Secretary Julie Sue; Partner4Work CEO Robert Cherry; Darrin Kelly, president of the Allegheny/Fayette Central Labor Council; Victor Mroczkowski, executive vice president of operations for Re:Build Manufacturing, and Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey.
