CCAC to Offer Free Healthcare Customer Service Class at Homewood-Brushton Center

CCAC, in partnership with Literacy Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania Women Work, is offering a free noncredit course in Customer Service for Healthcare. This class, designed to prepare adults for careers in customer service and administrative roles, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 3 through Nov. 7, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at CCAC Homewood-Brushton Center (701 N Homewood Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208).

The registration deadline is Aug. 27. The course is open to the public. Potential participants are required to score a Level 3 on the TABE reading test by Aug. 27 to be eligible. Those who complete the program will earn a "Communicating with Impact" leadership certification in customer service from Pennsylvania Women Work.

In addition to customer service skills, the class will feature instruction on professional writing, digital skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, Word and Excel), job searching, networking and interviewing. Healthcare employers, including UPMC Pathways to Work and UPMC Physicians Services, are also scheduled to be guest speakers as part of the program.
