CCAC Invites Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 to In-Person Commencement at Heinz Field

The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce that the college will hold an in-person 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 19, at Heinz Field. Graduates and their families are invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. As it will be the first in-person graduation held at CCAC since May 2019, the classes of 2020 and 2021 are also invited to walk in this year's ceremony. The event will be preceded by CCAC's 2020 Nursing Pinning Ceremony, which will be held at Heinz Field at 2:00 p.m.

The locally owned and operated franchise locations of Moe's Southwest Grill® in Pittsburgh have offered unique employee perks like receiving the latest iPhone for free on the employee's hire anniversary, a "Never Work on Your Birthday" policy, and tuition reimbursement for years. This year, Big Plan Group, the owners of the Pittsburgh area Moe's Southwest Grill franchised restaurants, is taking employee appreciation initiatives to the next level by now offering employees free education at the Community College of Allegheny County.

CCAC Nursing Program Extends Application Deadline for Fall Admission; Program Boasts High Employment Rate and Other Impressive Statistics

The Community College of Allegheny County's exceptional Nursing program has extended the application deadline for the Fall 2022 semester until April 4, 2022. Applications received by the original deadline of March 7 will receive priority admission consideration. To aid prospective students with the admissions process, a Virtual Nursing Admissions Information Session will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

CCAC Vice President Joins the Consortium for Public Education Board

The Community College of Allegheny County's new Vice President for Workforce Development has joined the Board of the Consortium for Public Education. Before her appointment, Debra Roach, Ph.D., served on the board's Future Ready Partnerships Advisory Committee, and she will continue to do so. A catalyst for advancement in K-12 education and workforce development, the Consortium for Public Education connects schools with partners and resources to support students in preparing for their futures.

CCAC and UPMC Establish Respiratory Therapy Program Partnership To Help Fill Therapist Shortage

The Community College of Allegheny County's Respiratory Therapy Associate of Science Degree program is teaming up with UPMC in a commitment to bring more skilled respiratory therapists to the region. Participants will have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while receiving tuition assistance of $6,000, as well as paid work opportunities while completing the program and a guaranteed job at UPMC upon successful completion. UPMC is also currently offering a generous sign-on bonus. Classes begin May 23, and participants can complete their degree in 18 months.

CCAC Radiologic Technologist Students and Graduates Eligible for Sign-On Bonus at AHN

Community College of Allegheny County students and graduates in the Radiologic Technologist program are eligible to receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus when they are hired to fill Radiology Department positions at Allegheny Health Network (AHN). The sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates, and spring 2022 graduates are encouraged to apply.
