Help is Just a Visit or Click Away!

Free tutoring is available for CCAC students enrolled in for-credit courses through the Center for Tutoring Services (CTS).  Tutors provide academic support in math, reading and writing, the sciences, and a variety of other subjects, and can also assist you in preparing for placement and TEAS tests.

Get the help you need to succeed while managing your busy schedule with both on-campus and virtual options.  Students can schedule an appointment to meet with a tutor through Navigate360 or can drop-in for a session while they are on campus.  Online tutoring and academic resources are also available through Brainfuse.

Make the Most of Your Tutoring Session

Our tutors are committed to helping you build skills, confidence, and independence as a learner. The more prepared and engaged you are, the more value you'll gain from each session.

Appointments can be scheduled through Navigate360. Tutoring sessions are 50 minutes in length. Come prepared to maximize your learning experience. Bring any relevant textbooks, notes, assignments, drafts, and course materials that will help you and your tutor work effectively together.

  1. Identify your goals. Take a few moments before your session to write down any specific questions or topics you'd like to discuss.
  2. Bring your work and be ready to engage. Tutors are here to help you strengthen your skills, develop effective learning strategies, and improve your ability to proofread and revise your work. Completing the assignment yourself and highlighting areas where you'd like support will help you get the most from your session.
  3. Use tutoring to deepen your understanding. Tutors can explain concepts, demonstrate problem-solving strategies, and work through similar examples to help you build confidence and mastery. To support academic integrity, tutoring sessions focus on learning rather than completing graded tests or quizzes.
  4. Help us support you and arrive on time for your appointment. If you are running more than 10 minutes late and have not contacted us, your appointment may be offered to another student. If an appointment becomes available due to a no-show, you may be able to use that time slot.
  5. Maintain access to scheduling benefits. Regular attendance and timely cancellations help ensure equitable access for all students. Students who frequently cancel appointments may be encouraged to use drop-in services. Whenever staff are available, we will do our best to accommodate walk-in support.
