CCAC Leadership Competency Academy


Our CCAC Leadership Program includes seven courses in each of five levels of leadership and the coinciding competencies courses designed to elevate an employee to a first, or next level of leadership, or to increase the capacity of a high performing employee by expanding their skill set.

  • Program curriculum was developed by industry experts with high level of topical subject matter expertise.
  • Content is delivered by highly qualified subject matter experts and/or industry sector expert.
  • Each individual module is four hours in length.
  • Courses can be slightly modified for customization to meet the unique needs of particular industry sectors.
  • Equivalent CCAC CEUs will be applied (1 hour = 0.1 CEUs)
  • Certificate of Completion of hours for each course and/or level will be issued by Community College of Allegheny County Workforce Development Division.
  • Courses can be delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid fashion at client location or on any CCAC campus.
  • A minimum of 10 students and maximum of 15 per class will result in highest quality learning experience.
  • Each level may be customized to meet the unique needs of the client with course substitutions within each category.
  • Course descriptions and pricing available upon request and determined by the number of course, required materials, and number of individuals in each group.

The Aspiring Leader courses are for individuals eager to take on leadership roles without formal experience. This series equips participants with essential skills in self-regulation, decision-making, and diversity awareness, laying a strong foundation for effective leadership.

The New Leader program is designed for individuals with one to three years of leadership experience seeking to strengthen their skills. This series covers key leadership concepts, focusing on personal growth, team management, and building a positive, ethical work environment.

The Functional Leader program is designed for individuals with three to five years of leadership experience who want to elevate their effectiveness. This series empowers participants to navigate complex challenges, enhance their leadership effectiveness, and foster a positive work environment in both in-person and remote settings.

The Functional Leader program is for senior leaders with 5-10 years of experience seeking to enhance their leadership journey. This transformative series fosters a mentoring mindset while developing advanced skills in team management and employee engagement to create an inclusive and thriving workplace culture that adapts to the ever-evolving business landscape.

The Seasoned Leader program is designed for accomplished executives and senior leaders with over 11 years of expertise seeking to refine their strategic leadership capabilities. This transformative series equips participants with advanced skills to drive organizational growth, foster resilience, and navigate complex challenges in today’s dynamic economic landscape.

 

Leadership Course Descriptions

Self- Regulation (Managing Self): This course empowers aspiring leaders by exploring the vital role of self-regulation in effective leadership and the distinction between good leaders and managers. Learning to Lead: This course supports emerging leaders with 1-3 years of experience in refining their foundational leadership skills and building confidence in their roles. Emotional Intelligence: This course introduces newer leaders to the vital concept of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and its importance for effective leadership in the workplace. Coaching for Success: This course empowers new leaders to enhance their coaching and feedback skills, emphasizing their vital role in driving team performance and individual development. Developing Efficiencies: This course empowers new leaders to enhance individual and team productivity through best practices for improving efficiency. Systems Thinking: This course enhances newer leaders' understanding of systems thinking, a vital approach for effective problem-solving in today’s complex work environments.
